Working with the Village Midwives
Midwife Doña Carmen País (far left) is one of the 4 village midwives that have been working with volunteers this week. Cheryl, Veronica and Shila also met with Doña Juana, another of the village midwives.
Over the week, the volunteers visited with 4 midwives and most of their patients, to listen to their stories, to see first-hand how midwifery is practiced in rural Guatemala, and to discover what the needs are so they can find ways of supporting them.
