Teaching at the N.U.F.E.D. School
The N.U.F.E.D. School is a technical institute here in the village for grades 7, 8 and 9. The purpose of the school is to bring as much education to the kids as possible before the end of Grade 9, because it is most likely that they won’t be able to afford more education after.
Each year, the volunteers from North Carolina hold a class for the entire N.U.F.E.D. School on Emergency Medicine and First Aid Techniques.
The volunteers and students divide up into 5 groups, each group covering a topic that they have prepared for. Each group chose a place around the school grounds to teach their 30 minute segment. Group 1 chose a place under the trees out in the middle of the school grounds.

The second Group sat at one end of the unfinished Meeting Salon/Cafeteria.
And the third group took the opposite end with their interactive teachings.
Each student had the opportunity of doing some hands-on First-Aid … a necessary skill for young people who may be working alone in the corn fields when some disaster strikes.
—
The Fourth Group chose to work under one of the palapas.

And the Fifth Group took over one of the classrooms for their active presentation.
—-
Groups played various games related to the topic they were working on.

And at the end of the morning, each student was given a Certificate of Participation to frame and hang on their wall at home.
Thanks to the North Carolina volunteers for presenting a fun-filled day of learning for the students of the N.U.F.E.D. Academy!!
