Putting it All Together
As the volunteers from the community were making flowers, the One Love Generation Team began to place them on the tree. The trunk was wrapped in small mesh chicken wire and the base of the “flowers” (which would be the opening of the bottle) popped perfectly into the holes.
The team began with the deepest purple that became blues on the way up the trunk.
The variety of designs of flowers is awesome!
In order to shape the branches, they rolled up sheets of chicken wire,
the opening of the bottle (the stem of the flower) fit into the holes of the chicken wire perfectly … they just needed to be popped in …
Co-leader of the group, Maria Cadena, chooses flowers to fill the branches.
Slowly they start taking shape … a rainbow of colours and styles …
Soon, there are enough flowers attached to their wire sleeves to begin to put them on the tree.
