N.U.F.E.D. Kitchen is Completed
This past week the N.U.F.E.D. Community turned out in full force to finish off the work that needed to be done before the end of the school year … including the last stages of work on the kitchen that could be done with the money available.
The inside walls have all been covered with a smooth layer of cement so they are ready to paint when funding becomes available … they didn’t have enough to do the outside.
And Edgar, who is parent of one of the students and has done the entire job for a fraction of its true cost, is shown here finishing off the cement floor.
Friends of Ix-canaan of Calgary, Alberta, had donated $1,500 for this project, which covered the cost of all the materials and a small salary for Edgar. The building now needs doors, windows, paint, some work tables, a refrigerator and some cooking implements.
