Ixcanaan’s Xmas Party & Festive Fundraiser!

Well, I was going to start with “Christmas is right around the corner–and we can’t believe how time flies!” but, true to form, time flew and Christmas is now behind us!
Two weeks ago, we had the kids’ Christmas party–and we wish you could have been there! Everyone had the best time, with party games, party food and Christmas pinatas.

Through December, the wonderful kids’ center local staff, international volunteers and kids themselves had a bunch of fun making festive decorations to hang so the place looked absolutely gorgeous.

We had volunteer Ciprian (a Romanian-born London chef) preparing frosting for the kids to decorate their holiday cookies, Israeli kids’ volunteer, Nadav (pictured), hanging even more decorations, and English volunteer Rosy coordinating the project’s Christmas digital fundraising activities, while the wonderful El Remate staff–Deysi, Claudia, and Enrique–put together the finishing touches to the center and party prep.

I want to say thank you, again, to you fantastic folk for your support of Ixcanaan. I’ll never be able to truly describe to you what a difference each and every donation we receive makes for the kids here, the folk who visit the clinic, and the dozens of girls and women who’ve been able to work toward their secondary (and sometimes even degree) education because of you guys–as well as countless other El Remate projects we’ve been able to support, together.
